The Gaza Monologues: Audio Production in Solidarity with Palestine

The Gaza Monologues is a collection of testimonies from Gazan youth in 2010, after the first war on Gaza, collected and adapted for stage by ASHTAR Theatre in Ramallah. After October 7, 2023, ASHTAR Theatre called for people around the world to perform the show for International Day of Solidarity with Palestinian People on November 29, 2023. I produced this audio-only version featuring 25 voice actors from around the world, with cover art by @pocketsizedquasar, and additional audio editing and coordination by Hannah Cross. You can learn more about the Gaza Monologues, and donate to ASHTAR Theatre’s programs, at GazaMonologues.com.

The Gaza Monologues logo: A digital painting of a Palestine sunbird sitting perched on olive branches. it is a small black and blue songbird with a teal-turquoise shimmer on its head and upper wings. In the background is a faded scene of a beach at sunset in the colors of the Palestinian flag: red, green, black, and white. Handwritten text at the top left reads, “The Gaza Monologues,” and the artist’s signature “@pocketsizedquasar” is written over one of the branches on the bottom left.

Solidarity Art Collective

Solidarity Art Collective is a mutual aid group that supports prison artists and movement art projects led by prisoners, providing alternative opportunities to artists under the restrictions of prison. SAC’s mission is to provide a platform to recognize the artists’ value, uplift their artistry, and amplify their voices so they can economically support their families and communities.

No New Washington Prisons

No New Washington Prisons is a collective of incarcerated and non-incarcerated organizers and community members fighting for prison and psychiatric abolition. NNWP was formed in 2019 in response to the Washington Department of Corrections’ plans to construct a new women’s prison at Maple Lane in Thurston County. Since then, NNWP has worked on making connections between the prison-industrial complex and behavioral health systems, including protesting the expansion of Western State Hospital and a new jail in Lynnwood; advocating to the state legislature in favor of bills for prison resentencing reform and against bills that expand criminalization; developing a zine library for political education on these topics; and more.

Don’t Forget the Chickpeas

Don't Forget the Chickpeas logo: Black square logo with the words "Don't Forget the Chickpeas" in white text, the first three words in a fancy curly font while the word "chickpeas" is in a more informal font, with the letter A in red. There is also a cartoony graphic of a can of chickpeas, where the A in "chickpeas" is again red.

Along with my friend Cameron Michels, I co-host Don’t Forget the Chickpeas, a podcast for people who love the show Pretty Little Liars and also hate pretty much everything about it, plus chickpea recipes! We’re rewatching the show for the fourth time together and sharing our thoughts, which include our attempts to queer everything about it, the best and worst outfits, the best and worst parents, our love for former PLL-reviewer Heather Hogan, and a surprising amount of discussion of women’s sports (not surprising if you know us, though).
